Making Pikelets
We are learning how to write clear instructions. We had a go at making pikelets we had so much fun and they were delicious!
How to make pikelets
Ingredients: 2 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
200mls milk
1 egg
few drops vanilla essence (optional)
Method:
1. Mix dry ingredients in a bowl
2. Add egg and milk
3. Stir until smooth
4. Melt a tablespoon of butter in a frying pan
5. Put spoonfuls of mixture in pan, wait till it bubbles then flip.
6. Serve with butter, jam or cream
7. Enjoy!

IMPORTANT CAMP NOTICE
Dear
Parents,
Camp
tomorrow and the kids are super excited! Attached is another copy of the gear
list, with requirements regarding clothing and sleep gear etc.We noticed that
there are not TSHIRTS on the list... sorry about that. PLease pack 3-4
t-shirts!
PLEASE
ensure all your child’s clothing is named.
Please
remember that the children are not to bring ipods, Nintendo’s, etc. to camp.
Any
medication your child requires should be handed to the classroom teacher in a
named bag on the day we depart.
October 23rd – Departure Day
On
the morning that we leave for camp we would like the children to arrive at
school at the usual time and providing the weather is fine, take all their gear
and place it outside their classroom (if wet take the gear into their own
classroom).
Parent
transporters/ helpers are asked to drive into school after the 9.00 bell and
park on the netball court ready for loading up, then assist in loading up with
their passenger’s gear.
We
will have a brief meeting in the hall before departing about 9.30 for Governors
Bay.
We
will be met by the camp staff who will guide us starting from Governors Bay
School/Jetty This is expected to take about 2 hours with talks from the
staff and lunch along the way.
Parents providing transport
Thanks
to those parents are helping us with transport, please make sure you are
at school by 9.05 tomorrow The transport list is below and shows who is
travelling together.

CAMP GEAR LIST – LIVING SPRINGS
** PLEASE NAME EVERYTHING CLEARLY **
PLEASE CHECK THIS LIST WITH YOUR CHILD AS HE / SHE PACKS FOR CAMP
ENSURE THIS LIST GOES WITH THEIR LUGGAGE TO CAMP, SO THAT IT CAN
BE CHECKED OFF BEFORE RETURNING TO SCHOOL.
General Gear
- Pillow and warm sleeping bag
- Toilet gear: toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, towel, sunblock lotion, hairbrush/comb, facecloth, and hankie/tissues
- Towel
- Two plastic supermarket bags (for
dirty clothing)
- Light day pack (school bag)
- Pencil case, paper.
- Torch
- A board game/ Pack of cards
- Reading book
Clothing:
- 3-4 Tshirts
- Pyjamas
- Underwear (several changes)
- Socks (4 pairs at least 2 of which
should be woollen or polyprop
- 2 Pairs of shorts
- 2 pairs of long pants (one of
these must be warmer than jeans – e.g. track pants)
- 1 skivvy or warm shirt
- 1 warm woollen jersey
- 1 warm sweatshirt, rugby jersey or
similar.
- 2 pairs of shoes (1 of which must
be sturdy and suitable for hiking)
- 1 sunhat
- 1 warm woollen hat
- 1 pair of woollen or poly prop
gloves
- 1 warm jacket, polar fleece or
bush shirt
- 1 waterproof parka/jacket with a
hood
- Swimming togs and 2 towels
**Cut lunch, morning tea and a large water bottle for the
first day**
NO LOLLIES ETC ARE TO BE BROUGHT TO CAMP.
CAMERAS ARE PERMITTED BUT TOTALLY THE CHILD’S RESPONSIBILITY.
LEAVE ALL IPODS, MP3 PLAYERS, NINTENDOS ETC AT HOME!
